“Sopor Aeternus”一首悲苦至极的《No One Is There》
Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows. 被称为 Truly Gothic。 乐队1989年成立于德国法兰克福。灵魂人物Anna Varney，一向深居简出，依靠传真机与外界交流。没有人能确定其是男是女。据传是两性人。 Varney 童年时常幻觉有精灵相伴，并称它们为 The Ensemble of Shadows，成年后 Varney 成为撒旦信徒。SOPOR AETERNUS 的意思是 Eternal Sleep。乐队名称由来于此。
Sopor Aeternus 在拉丁文中意为“永恒沉睡”（即死亡）。而The Ensemble of Shadows则被其创始人喻为“非物质的存在，整个乐队的良师益友”。
